EFVM®: Stop Leaks Before They Start

Say goodbye to flood testing and other time- and money-consuming leak investigation methods. Thanks to International Leak Detection Northwest’s Electric Field Vector Mapping® technology, certified inspectors perform non-destructive integrity tests to locate any membrane breach with pinpoint accuracy—without relying on wet spots within the insulation.

EFVM® can be used to test a variety of insulating membranes, including:

  • Roofs with paving
  • Roofs with or without ballast
  • Non-insulated and insulated roof systems
  • Swimming pools
  • Pond/water-container liners

Our technicians use EFVM® testing in combination with visual inspections of all wall junctions, perimeter details, and membrane penetrations to locate breaches in new or existing waterproofing membranes with pinpoint accuracy.

Once EFVM® testing is complete, we provide a detailed, unbiased and confidential report on the condition of your waterproofing system. This report includes CAD drawings and picture documentation detailing the exact coordinates of the breaches and the nature of the defects.

ProtectSys®: A Focus on Prevention

The varied uses of a flat roof surface often lead to damage in the waterproofing membrane—damage that’s virtually impossible to detect by eyesight alone. If left unchecked, the consequences of that damage can be devastating. It used to mean razing the roof, in some cases.

ProtectSys®, combined with EFVM®, has changed all that.

ProtectSys® is a pre-installed system for locating moisture penetrations. With ProtectSys®, the water-tightness of a new or existing roof construction can easily be checked, and membrane defects or damage identified at every stage.

In the event of any contact with moisture—even the smallest capillary action—the system closes the electrical circuit. Moisture penetration can then be quickly located and cost-effectively repaired.
